THE GRAND CANYON
The beauty, diversity and immensity of the Grand Canyon have been a source of inspiration for Paul Winter and the Consort over several decades. Paul's many river-rafting/recording expeditions into the Grand Canyon have resulted in two of his most popular recordings, CANYON by the Paul Winter Consort which was largely recorded in the Canyon, and Winter's solo sax album, CANYON LULLABY, recorded entirely in the Canyon. WOLVES
One of Paul Winter's signature pieces is the song 'Wolf Eyes', inspired by a magnificent Canadian timber wolf named Jethro, and by Paul's experiences listening to the voices of wolves in the wilderness.
Early in the last century, the American government tried to eradicate the wolf. It was largely successful, but now wildlife organizations are spearheading wolf restoration efforts across the USA:

Dreams Can Be Foundation - a nonprofit charitable supporting organization and a Brazilian NGO dedicated to aiding street children and impoverished youth in Brazil. We are very grateful for the support we have received for Paul Winter's Solstice Celebrations during the 24 years of the Annual Winter Solstice Celebration each December and the 10 years of the Annual Summer Solstice Celebration each June. The New York Revels, Inc., promotes community celebrations of seasonal events based on traditional music, dance, storytelling and drama. Each year it presents The Christmas Revels, a fully staged theatrical production that joyfully honors Christmas and the Winter Solstice.
