E.B. White, one of the great writers of the Twentieth Century, spent most
of his life writing short anonymous essays for the weekly magazine The New
Yorker. He and his wife Katherine lived in Maine. This poem he once wrote
her as a birthday gift; it was published years after he died. The song has
never before been recorded.
